Course Overview

The Diploma in First Aid Specialist is a one-year skill-based programme designed to develop competent professionals capable of providing immediate emergency care, first aid assistance, and basic life support in a variety of healthcare and community settings. The programme combines theoretical knowledge with extensive practical training, enabling students to respond confidently to medical emergencies until advanced medical care becomes available.

The programme is offered by the First Aid Council of India (FACI) in academic collaboration with Jharkhand State Open University (JSOU). Jharkhand State Open University is a State University established by the Government of Jharkhand and recognized under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. The curriculum is designed to promote professional competence in emergency response, first aid practices, and healthcare support services while creating opportunities for employment and self-employment in the healthcare sector.

Students receive hands-on training in life-saving techniques, patient handling, emergency assessment, and accident response, making them valuable assets in healthcare, educational institutions, industries, disaster management, and community service.
